Perhaps We Should Be Grateful
Today we should be greatful, for the happier things in life
Things we take for granted, like a husband or a wife
These are rocks we climb upon, the support to get us through
The loving, caring, sharing, we can only find in them.
So be forever greatful, until life on earth is done
Then the lord will open up his gates, and say " welcome " little one
I know this happens to be true, I've been there once before
I remember oh so clearly, as I waited at the door
You decided not to open it, decided it was not my time
My father sat there watching me, on a rock not far behind
I'm sorry Dad I could not leave, I've children here you see
But when the time is right for me, YOU will be the first I find.
I love you dad.
